Flick 🇬🇧 (npub1uxm…ujtm) I see some of that from the article. but I don't think taking up farmland is the answer. we've had wildfires, really bad ones, in recent years, so it could be very damaging. I'd be for putting them in old mines, or factories. but it also said new tech is being worked on to avoid lithium, which seems wise. we (govt, global and UK wide) should be investing in all the research for this, because it's badly needed, and safer less materially damaging batteries is a big part of it. there are lots of ways of creating small inconsistent amount of electricity - it doesn't become usable till there are better batteries. And I don't think paying farmers should be the default.
