Especially since 9/11, American Christian extremists have idolized a fantasy version of Islamic paramilitary terrorism. They have spoken in hopeful, dreaming terms of raising a generation of suicide bombers for Christ. They want a Global Crusade to counter and overcome the supposed Global Jihad. This has melded quite readily with Orban style war against democracy.
