True, it very well could be more. Not easy to verify. Yes it’s very strange the reaction people have to bitcoin. I’ve been sub 10% effective at orange pilling people I’ve spoken with, which is much higher than the general 1% across the wider population.
#bitcoin takes so much time and energy to grasp; you have to reason through every single doubt you have about it to even take the first step. Most don’t put in the work, and I think most won’t.
Re population numbers: for a community that emphasizes “running the numbers” I’ve often wondered why this doesn’t come up during how-do-we-scale conversations. The only one I recall saying something other than the official 8 billion is adam3us (npub1qg8…24kw) when he said, “how do we scale to a billion people?” Don’t know if he has a particular view on this. I don’t think I’ve heard anyone really discuss this regardless of what main community they are involved in
