it is my firm belief that the ultra-rich intend to get rid of the rest of us as soon as automation can provide them with everything they personally need. Surgery will be the last piece.
I'm not sure what happens after that. Either they stabilise (something like fully automated luxury gay space communism, but only for <100k humans) or start an endless series of automated wars on one another to become the richest person on the cinder. Probably the latter, it's stupider.
