So a few minutes ago, #Signal popped up a notification:
"(a guy I know) is on Signal!"
That would be fine, except that I know that my contact for this guy is obsolete; the cell number was for a phone our mutual boss insisted he get because there was no reliable way to contact him.
But I'm pretty sure he abandoned the phone, and that the number has almost certainly been recycled by now.
So yet another reason Signal relying on phone numbers was and is a really bad idea.
