Well, if you don't own a safe, you should. Get a big gun safe – too big and heavy for two people to cart out of the house easily. It will have plenty of room for a DVR or NAS; just drill a couple of holes for power and other cables.
Most safes are pretty fair protection against fires too; so they are a good place to store data backups and important documents.
