I can't find how they're relevant for not only abandoning academia, but also rejecting scientific enterprise altogether to embrace superstition.
Especially if such significance of this march can't be provided, as is easy for the USSR and Nazi Germany.
Much more plausible is that the right is intellectually void whether or not they control academia.
