The absolutely unconfirmed reports I've read seem to indicate:
1) Abusive father (possible gas-lighting by mother?)
2) Mother who has been accused of drug abuse (possible gas-lighting by father?)
3) Father likes guns and gave the child a gun despite the child already making threats.
4) Serious mental health issues that were noted, but not helped.
If any of the above is confirmed, that would explain... something? When home life is hell, the unthinkable slowly becomes thinkable.
