npub1hy97khhdue7r23qvmwk4rj9h4tj7chap3hq2af30kfqvq8uq7h4qym56r3 (npub1hy9…56r3) nope, they clearly didn't know what they were doing. Amazon is a retailer and this was a logical defensive move to avoid damaging their relationship with the customer by repeatedly selling defective produce. Problem is, nobody involved understood how real publishers work, so it's designed around the needs of self-published authors. (And annoys even the self-pub folks.)
It's what you'd expect of a grocery store, not a bookshop.
