❤️ Many Brits here. When it's so easy to be mad at government... some vagaries of being a Canadian tourist in England.
It's been quite some time since I've traveled. (Of course, it'll be another four years of not travelling to the states). But England? It's the only place I visited twice.
I was with my fiancé the first time, as newlyweds the second. Our love was flourishing. Divorced now, but we'll always have Cricket. And London too.
I was never more beautiful than in these photographs. When a woman is at that certain age. I realize now a lot was the rapport between the photographer and the subject. (Allow me to tell you this now without bragging, as, nowadays, it's like this: nothing seems to age worse than a once beautiful woman's EGO). 🙄
Of course, we saw the sites. I finally got to stand before my beloved Arnolfini Betrothal. But strange what you remember most...

The biggest rat I ever saw - one night at Trafalgar Square. 🐀
Asking a barkeep if they had a lager. Hahaha. In England. Really. She knew what I wanted and managed to satisfy me with a light ale. Just chatting with people at the pub. Lovely!
St. Paul's: if you seek a monument, look around you.
Mis-taking the subway all the way to Brixton. (All new husband's fault).
Clotted cream. My God! I swear I died!
Somerset. Must be the most beautiful and wettest county in all of England. Those clouds just roll across that channel to fair Somerset. My dry hair and skin felt wonderful.
Brag brag. We got to stay at Cricket St. Thomas. In the Manor! I know, crazy. My favourite britcom. Is Britain a nation of romantics? It simply must be true!
Lastly, I saw the white cliffs of Dover on the way to Calais, imagining all those who've left England's green and pleasant land with a pang in their heart.❤️
