i find the novel such a passive form of entertainment. reading? gives me a real couch potato feeling. everyone knows it's a problem too - that's why book clubs exist. people want to participate, to be active. it's a flaw with the medium they're trying to patch. i would definitely read more if authors inserted e.g. a word search, a "spot the difference" puzzle, maybe a little maze. personality quiz? mostly a's, mostly b's. etc. a page you could tear out and turn into origami. enriching activities
