NGL, there is this terribly heartbreaking aspect of all of this, which is that the weakest of weak men (money rich, masculinity poor) seem to be under the impression that a good woman wants a man who finds himself egged on and turned off by the designation of a group which has found its safety in the realm of grifters and gifters - the media, the swindlers, the smear factory laborers, the Pharisees of our time, the liars.
what woman wants a man who lets other people trash her with no real reason except banal jealousy, spite, and hatred? shouldn't men be PROTECTING women from becoming the objects of some collective rage due to her perspective, insight, intelligence, or talent?
instead these types originate from the sewers of the internet where men believe women are better off not doing much at all; and why, when that would force him to sacrifice himself in some way or another to protect her in less predictable settings? or worse, to participate fully in raising a family so that she might explore her own ambitions for the sake of balance.
you know what's actually very sexy?
when a man's like "you're right" and he's STILL the one she relies on to do all the things good men are inclined to do. in order for a relationship to be happy, there really doesn't have to be a great deal of intellectual debate, if at all; in fact, I don't LIKE talking to a man I'm dating about politics very much. but respect for a woman's intelligence coincides with her respect for his actions.
thinking and doing are equally important, you know.
personally, I think the best men are the ones who motivate women to APPLY their intelligence to whatever they see fit. equally important, to not be an intertiatic force in her life, as the world provides too much of this already.
women don't really need men to tell them what's right or wrong, or to condemn their thoughts and opinions - nor do we want a man to.
no woman needs or wants a man who will judge her the way the world judges her.
