I think we have an in-town speed limit of 30 MPH, but no one pays it any mind.
Plus, American cities are designed for cars. Trying to arrange them logically for *people* gets you labeled a communist and driven out of town with torches and pitchforks.
I grew up here and I still don't understand Americans.
