Yes, I have a day job; I'm a freelance editor and copyeditor.
No, I don't want to write full time. If I had no need to earn money, writing would still be one of several things I did. I want to try all kinds of things, I want to have adventures. I could call that research--except it's not: I do it for its own sake. If some of it comes into stories, that's great.
