I'm all about time tracking, but to avoid wasting time, tracking it is not enough. The ideal would be, for me, to both track time spent and set an expected time to reach a goal.
e.g. this morning I expect to solve such problem, or at least to learn how to do it, or, I expect to implement this feature in the next 2 hours.
Then both set a timer and track the time.
It's not to put pressure, but to validate your own expectation and get better at formulate them.
