During the summer, I had 2 layers (4) curtains on it during the summer and kept my place cooler even when I turned off AC. I also placed cardboard between glass and blinds except for the top part.
Found them on sale on amazon with the cyber deal- $22 for a pair- Nicetown blackout curtains, (if you need any)
I live in TX where we got to triple digit temps for over a month. Pulled them to get some sun in and found this:
