Smart people need to get better at understanding how to get everyone who isn't them on board. People, en masse, usually do things for dumb reasons.
"Climate change will create refugees and devastate the world's food supply" won't move the needle. "Climate change threatens the American way of life, and it's our duty to fight back" will. Sucks. But that's people.
