I've spent the past two days trying to start a simple desktop app. I've experimented with Electron and Wails (because I already know Go) and... holy shit. The complexity to run even the most basic html is astronomical. All I've done in 2 days is add React and Bootstrap, neither one of which I know either. I can completely understand, with this, why people rage quit web dev. Give me Go or PHP any day.
