👉 The decision was made just 24 hours after the prosecutor general gave course to a petition from the governing party, Frente Renovador.
👉 The prosecutor, Carlos Giménez, argued that the provision was unconstitutional and violated democratic principles and the right to equal participation in elections.
👉 The court ruled that the exclusion of over 20,000 people from the electoral roll was disproportionate and violated international human rights treaties.
