In the future, I think everyone is going to:
(a) run their own server for a series of plug-in functions, of which Mastodong will be one
(b) export encrypted backups to other servers in a reciprocal arrangement
(c) have complete separation of public identity from internet identity
Urbit and Solid are onto something, just probably not the way they're doing it.
