Most tech savvy people should not have issue rolling there own secure method for keeping Bitcoin in cold storage without purchasing some solution for doing so.
For non-tech people, I do see the attraction to purchase something to achieve that goal. Downside it is extremely difficult to find solutions one can trust and then they are missing the core educational piece that is so important to have under your belt.
If one skips the educational step, they are going to get rugged at some point.
