There's a whole category of things that keep being tested, and every so often we get an article like "We gave poor people money and their life got better", "This country homef the homeless and it was cheaper and better than punishing them", "This company works 4 day weeks and everyone is happier", "Turns out free healthcare is better than expensive", "Free education works for everyone", "Public transport can fix our cities" etc

And then nothing changes.
