Regarding those fake follower counts on Gab, those are almost all Gab's own work. Spinning up gigantic fake followings in hours was the first clear sign that Gab had a massive bot problem. I trolled the guy behind the followbots and he spun up a bunch of fake Dread accounts to troll me. Torba is so lazy and stupid that you can find these accounts in user search to this day, with their thousands of followers.
They also follow rapidly. Oh, and the tard who set these up was also running networks of downvote bots.
Here's one of his fake follower accounts. I watched these gain 3000 followers in 20 minutes.
