Sexual expression has a spectrum. In the hetero world it ranges from holding hands, hugging and cuddling to extreme fetishes. Same goes for the homo world. Imagine a hetero pride parade that was filled with extreme fetishes almost exclusively. Would you feel represented?
The homos need to get the extreme fetish shit out of the way. This doesn't represent the body whole. I've lived among the gays for decades in the Bay Area and for the most part, historically, they just wanted to be left alone.
