Part of my argument is that the Friar Lawrence theme in the Tchaikovsky coda is th Friar being ineffectual — all those short phrases returning back to where he starts, and then that one “I REALLY tried” but it still didn’t come off…. Just like the story.
Also, the transcendence of peace allows for a happy ending
