Freedom of speech is a fundamental human right inherent in every individual. While most nations recognize this right, they do not do so in the same way. For instance, the United States is one of the greatest defenders of this right for its citizens, while North Korea is at the opposite end of the spectrum.

In the context of #Bitcoin, freedom of speech is especially important. Why? Because everything related to Bitcoin is text. The 12 or 24-word seed phrases are text. The Bitcoin ledger is simply a chain of text entries. The Bitcoin software that nodes run is text. All transactions that take place on the Bitcoin blockchain are text. Even Satoshi Nakamoto's white paper that initiated Bitcoin is text.

So, how can text or numbers be prohibited or made illegal? Can certain letters like “n” or “w” be banned or made illegal? Can the numbers “1” and “0” be made illegal somewhere? Of course not. Any attempt to make free speech illegal is ridiculous.

Bitcoin cannot be stopped as long as freedom of speech (in its written form) is acceptable on planet earth. As long as there are countries that support freedom of speech (i.e., the software), Bitcoin will survive without problems.

It is amazing and comforting to know that the asset that holds the majority of our wealth is so resilient. Bitcoin cannot be stopped and will be around for thousands of years, like gold, but better.
