"content": "that's helpful. if there are issues at home - those can be dealt with on a case by case basis at least. interpreting the \"i dunno\" answers is much more difficult. in my experience dealing with that kind of student involves a conversation that begins with where they're at right now (you're failing), and asking what they need me to do to make things easier to digest. if they're can't or won't work towards articulating what the issue is, they really are on their own after that. teaching/sympathy styles vary according to instructor, so i can appreciate that it isn't palatable to everyone.",
