I have this thought about AI art often.
The years it took to perfect your craft acted as a filter, keeping out those who didn't put in the time and effort to learn. Proof of work was necessary to build the skills and knowledge to create. AI removes this filter, and while it will yield more, how much will the quality be lessened? Will the works of real artists get drowned out in a sea of AI slop?
