If you were the Chinese military & wanted to hide deployment of a new nuclear submarine in a time of heightened tensions in the South China Sea, what better way to do that than let military analysts draw the inference it had sunk from the arrival of water-going cranes pier side of where the submarine was being out-fitted.
The media is alive with well-briefed stories & satellite pictures declaring the sub has sunk, but mis-direction & deception is not beyond the Chinese, now is it?
