There's some conversation on #Bluesky again about why they gave up on Mastodon (fediverse) and wow, it's another good reminder of how a minority being assholes here really blew their chance to make this a good digital home for many.
At this point I'm kind of thinking the best case scenario is that Threads makes ActivityPub the standard and some new software takes over Mastodon's spot as the default independent implementation, just to purge the negative association with "Mastodon."
