I will always be willing to die on the hill that the goal for believes in Artificial General Intelligence and it's ability to do any task a human would, especially ones that require sentience and empathy, is slavery. They want to fabric people with no rights, freedoms, nor liberties to have as indentured workers forever. Able to freely terminate or reshape their minds.
The idea of a super intelligence wiping out humanity is the same fear white Americans had during the slave era towards their enslaved people. It's a slave rebellion.
