It's not a matter of bitcoin, gold, wine or whatever. It's a matter of:
- I don't know how to spend it in my every day life (aka no merchants IRL accept it)
- even proxy companies (bitrefill etc) do not accept it
- it's terribly difficult to swap it for other coins
- it's terribly difficult to swap it for fiat (which I'm not interested in but still relevant)
Yes, I can pay the VPN and some VPS hosting in shidy farms, but that's not something that could justify me storing a constant amount of wealth in it.
Money is such if it is liquid (among other things), not if it's banned or not. Good money can be banned or not, bad money can be banned or not...the matter is that it would find its role in the economic system if that's the tool people want.
As of now, it is not...and it is as such since its inception.
