One of the weird characteristics of the other post-Twitter (can we call it that now) social networks is how often you come across posts full of some pretty virulent dislike of Mastodon. Some of that is just nonsense ("no one boosted my posts" says the man who never interacted with anyone), some of it is outdated (difficult UI, etc) but some if it is entirely reasonable. It's really important not to fixate on the first two and ignore the last one.
