Watts is very intelligent, but in the end he crafted his own religion. IMHO he shouldn't have rejected Christianity, but should have changed the denomination. Zen teaches you to empty your mind thru meditation. However this will leave you empty. You cannot fully become yourself. You need the holy spirit to dwell in you. In Christianity the true, good, beautiful - God - became man, for man to become God.
