If more people voted with their feet the laws would be more sane. I mean, even if you aren't thinking of the bigger picture, do it for yourself, and your immediate family, if you have one.
I don't mean move to a country where you get paid more, I mean move to a country where meat is cheaper. Or having the space to raise your own is cheaper.
There is something to the idea that humans get trained to think of the world as being inside the boundary of their nearby urban environment. Stop it! The world is your land.
