I had one of these, accidentally took it to INS when I was late for an appointment (so I couldn't run back to the car and leave it there) and the security guy was okay with me just throwing away the blade to make it "not a knife".
YMMV if you're not a pasty-white Australian though, but I thought that was pretty neat.
I managed to lose it some years later, thought about buying another, but without a convincing reason carrying one in Australia is a weapons charge and I would forget.
