I'm listening to Shonen Knife's album "Let's Knife", my very first exposure to Japanese pumk-pop music back in around 1993. Highly recommend.
The summer of DEF CON 2 I worked at Capitol Records in LA, and Shonen knife released Let's Knife on Capitol. It ties in a lot of good memories!
The Seattle / Nirvana connection is also a bonus.
