i had to translate some medical documents to English from Catalan the other day and it underscored for me how translation technology now does ~90% of the work. this was a field i'm not familiar with and a language i don't know. i would have easily had to pay something like €500-€1000 to have a person translate them. instead, dropped it into my CAT tool, fired up DeepL, did a bit of googling to check a few things, done.
