I think those are good points (especially if you consider any movement that students are involved in to be "student movements") so I'll conceed the initial statement is overly broad.

How about we narrow it down to focus on movements more similar to the current protests to ones where students are peacefully* protesting on college campus that get disrupted by cops in riot gear. Any counter examples in that realm?

*Here peaceful = non-violent before any cops arrive.
