found the timing belt issue: a bolt holding a pully on came loose and the belt was jumping teeth.
Today I pulled off the power steering pump. Need to find the leak still, but I'm highly suspect of a specific line coming out of it. Couldn't pull off that line without pulling the pump though.
I hate the dumbasses that design cars. oil was dripping down my arm to my shoulder trying to get the bottom bolt off that was being blocked by that line.
