A few early thoughts as I'm writing the spec (it's taking a while!):
* Should I keep using Protobuf for it, or use something like Cap'n Proto instead? MsgPack has only slightly less overhead than JSON does. I want something pre-typed and nimble: the base frames will be pretty solid.
* I was thinking I could eventually submit it to IETF as an RFC, but would W3C be better?
