I'm a real estate agent. I've come to hate the industry, and actively look for other opportunities daily. I can sell homes, and I throw this out there because a lot of agents can't. By one measure, I've been a minimum top ten percent in my state my entire career and according to Zillow, I'm in the top 4%.
I cannot sell to buyers to save my life. I have one set of buyers - they're your typical first time buyer - we have written 23 offers in three months and haven't won yet. I have another set of buyers. They're both doctors, very healthy budget, lots of cash down, they're waiving all inspections and going up to 15% over asking price... and they've lost seven times. I'm mainly selling to cash only buyers at this point.
This is criminal. A home cost in the $7,000 range fifty years ago. Based on inflation, that cost should now be around $85,000 today. Government and corporate greed. Theft of our money. It turns my stomach, and I feel so guilty participating. I obviously wasn't orange pilled until I was well established in my career, and now I'm struggling to escape.
