I recognize that there is no way for vinyl to ever be as "quiet" as digital - barring bitrot, or hardware issues, digital is going to be what it is.
But I think the occasional tik or pop is inevitable, given the medium. But there's a difference between that and a “bad" defect...and given visual QC could detect them, there are too many of those.
