People talk about things like potential for nostr and even bitcoin to “go mainstream” but I’m wondering if I’m perfectly okay that they don’t. If we’re building a parallel social and financial system to withstand a collapse of the existing system do we even want mainstream adoption? I feel like we’re already reaching a critical mass of based people I’d actually want to hang out with and trade with because we’re on the same page about the state of the world and matters like trust and work ethic. Why muddy that trying to rush mainstream adoption? Slow and steady wins the race perhaps.
