One thing that boils my piss about recipes on the Internet and in magazines is the presumption of standard stock cubes.

Many times I'll see a recipe with "One stock cube made up to 1l".

What fucking brand? A standard Oxo cube makes 190ml of stock. A Knorr will make 450ml.

State something like 500ml of stock, diluted further to 1l ffs. Spend time on that instead of waffling on about your dead grandmother's bloody stew on cold winter nights reminding you of your clown shoes or something.
