I’m trying to create a tone of endearing dissonance through layers of metafiction. Overall this is a satire but one layer is played entirely straight and a little tone-deaf while things are absurdly authentic behind the scenes. Overall it’s about place, collective identity, mythos, and truth in writing in white post-colonial culture. There’s also unreliable supernatural elements.
