I was just today reviewing Pierre Sauvage's testimony to the courage, founded in religious conviction, of the people of Chambon-sur-Lignon who sheltered and saved his family and several thousands of other Jews during the Nazi period. His "Weapons of the Spirit" tells that story and is clear on the religious convictions that motivated these heroic folks.
