Excellent post, and excellent discussion in the thread.
I find it hard to come to terms with the AI enthusiasm that my fellow academic teachers display. Clearly their "teaching" means something entirely alien to the core purpose of higher education.
"Navigational skills", perhaps? Or "how to get by"?Rather than the ability to distinguish true from false and how to take a well-founded stance. A disheartening loss of pedagogical vision.
