Not sure if people really understand France and UK's history with Iran. It's really important, and it goes back to Britain's wars with Russia in the 1850s. Britain viewed Persia as a chess piece against Russia, and France got lusty over Persia's oil in the 1910's. Britain and France hoped in defeating the Ottomans in WWI that they would pry Persia away from both the Ottomans and Russia to control its oil.
Also look into Kermit Roosevelt if you think America is an innocent bystander is all of this nonsense.
