I've always been interested in the question of why Africa is poor. I'm aware of 3 major theories, but we probably only need to spend time on 2 of them.
1. B̶l̶a̶c̶k̶ p̶e̶o̶p̶l̶e̶ a̶r̶e̶ a̶n̶ i̶n̶f̶e̶r̶i̶o̶r̶ r̶a̶c̶e̶.
2. Geography: The parts with timber for ships have dangerous coasts, and the parts with sailable coasts don't have enough timber. (I read that in Tim Marshall's Prisoners of Geography.)
3. Mosquitoes.
